One of the many Dwarf Antelopes of Africa is the Steenbok. This small tan antelope prefers open planes and is one of the few antelopes that pairs for long periods.
The males grow short straight black horns, while the females do not have any horns. They have extremely large, white lined ears and of course have very good hearing.
They are listed by the IUCN as ‘Least Concern’ on the Redlist. They do face some threats from local communities who hunt them with dogs and snares.
