The Johnston’s Chameleon is also known as the Rwenzori Three-horned Chameleon. It is an endemic to the Albertine Rift. The male grows 3 long horns, much like a modern day Triceratops.
As with all chameleons they can change the colour of their skin, this is done more in relation to their mood than to match their surroundings.
They are listed as ‘Least Concern’ on the IUCN Redlist but do face threats from poaching for sale on the pet trade as well as habitat loss.
