They mostly eat fruit. They are mostly found in small flocks, often clambering around the tree tops. It often moves its crest up and down in an odd hairdo display.

It is listed as ‘Least Concern’ on the IUCN Redlist and is common throughout most of its range. Although it has gone extinct in small areas for unknown reasons.
