Little Wild Eye

Citrus Swallowtail - Papilio demodocus

One of the most common large butterflies seen around much of Africa.

This photo was taken in the Selous Game Reserve, now known as Nyerere National Park in Tanzania.

One interesting fact about this species is that their young larvae are camouflaged as bird droppings.

This species is not currently evaluated by the IUCN Redlist, which points to a healthy population.
